One of our biggest mistakes is thinking we have time to push off our dreams and re-visit them. Let's never forget the global COVID-19 effect that had people we loved pass away and others' health take a nose-dive. A bittersweet reality is we won't always be here. On the other hand, our energies vested into our dreams like art, legacies, and innovations will outlive us if we see them to the end - bringing them to life.
To help overcome the anxieties, fears, and lethargy please organize your dreams into micro-tasks to get you closer to completion. Nothing great was built in 1 day. Find time. While working on 30_30 I researched extensively and learned about resources because I believe there's no such thing as a stupid question. The choice of incompletion wasn't an option.
Many people will say they'll support you in the beginning but don't fret if it doesn't turn out the way you'd like. Be open to receiving support from people you couldn't imagine and not becoming disappointed if those you thought would didn't. Refuse to give up because your big break could be around the corner!
Manage your inside voice and repeat positive affirmations daily! To be frank, my inside voice is a bit cocky - I say things like, "I'm the best. I'm the greatest." I do this because competing against myself has been the only thing I have ever done.
Lastly, use your family as fuel! Minimize the excuses associated with having additional responsibility and use them as motivation! Many of the late nights I've shared with my son falling asleep while I burned the midnight oil drafting up business plans were immensely fulfilling.
